rleston wedding photographer, I’m lucky to witness a lot of beautiful celebrations — but Mikayla and Luke’s Romantic fall wedding at Legare Waring House was something truly special. With an “Italian garden party” vision that evolved into a romantic, intimate, and relaxed affair, their day was a heartfelt reflection of who they are as a couple.
From the very start of the day, you could feel the love and intention behind every detail. Mikayla got ready in a dreamy powder-blue For Love & Lemons set, and started the morning with tequila shots surrounded by her closest friends — setting the tone for a fun, emotional, and memory-filled celebration. Their guest count was just under 60, which gave the whole day an incredibly personal and meaningful atmosphere.
The ceremony took place under a canopy of Spanish moss, with a beautiful petal toss exit and a memorial chair honoring Mikayla’s late mother. One of the most thoughtful elements was their request for “red carpet” style photos of guests arriving — images they plan to include in their thank-you cards, making the experience feel extra special for everyone present.
After a sweet welcome toast by the couple and a private cake cutting, guests enjoyed live-action food stations, an oyster shucking experience during cocktail hour, and a gelato cart (yes, they scooped their own gelato post-cake — it was adorable). Later in the evening, an espresso martini tower brought the energy up just in time for the dance floor.
There were so many moments worth capturing: their emotional first look where they exchanged rings early (Mikayla had Luke’s band engraved — surprise!), a fun reenactment of how they first met (he ordered a White Claw while she was bartending!), and intentional time set aside for both bridal and groom portraits.
Mikayla and Luke prioritized guest experience and emotional connection above all else — and it showed. Every part of their romantic fall wedding at Legare Waring House wedding felt immersive and joy-filled, with a quiet elegance that made it unforgettable.
