Get ready for a love story that unfolds under the Charleston sun! Grace and Jonah’s engagement session was an adventure that started at the crack of dawn in the beautiful town of Mt. Pleasant. We kicked off the day at a stunning waterfront marina, capturing the magical sunrise as the backdrop to their love story. With the serene waters and the gentle breeze, it was the perfect setting to capture their connection.
As the morning progressed, we ventured into the heart of downtown Charleston for a change of scenery. Grace and Jonah embraced the opportunity to showcase their versatile style, rocking two different outfits that reflected their vibrant personalities. It was incredible to witness their harmonious bond and the genuine laughter that filled the streets of Charleston.
With their wedding day approaching in August of 2024, this engagement session was just the beginning of our journey together. Grace and Jonah are a couple who thrive in the great outdoors, and that’s exactly why we chose picturesque outdoor locations for their session. Their shared love languages of acts of service became a guiding principle as I captured their genuine moments, ensuring their photos reflected their deep connection and care for one another.
When asked about their motivation for the session, Grace shared, “We want to capture this stage of our life for our future kids to look back on. Pictures mean a lot to me!” They wanted to commemorate their four and a half years together, as this year has been a whirlwind of milestones—graduating college, starting careers, and establishing themselves after navigating a long-distance relationship. They desired to freeze these precious moments in time and reflect on the sweetness of this season of life.
Grace and Jonah were drawn to a water location, but they preferred to avoid the beach. Understanding their preferences, I always strive to match locations to my couples’ personalities and preferences. The chosen spots spoke to them as a couple, allowing their love story to unfold against a backdrop that resonated with their unique journey.
