It’s no secret that planning a wedding can get expensive fast. I am here to give you my top wedding budgeting tips to make your dream wedding a bit cheaper!
The number one thing my brides have said that they wished they skipped on was wedding favors. Guests tend to forget to take them and don’t use them. Take that money and use it on something else for your wedding!
One of the biggest wedding expenses, besides a venue and a photographer/videographer, is florals. To cut down these costs opt for greenery instead of flowers. Another option for florals is to look into Something Borrowed for flowers. You can substitute real florals for where you want them and fake ones where no one will notice. This can save you a ton of money.
My wedding cake tip is to have a real top tier for your cake cutting, and then serve a Publix sheet cake (they are actually so good and people don’t know the difference) for your guests. Another option is to do mini cookies, cupcakes, or donuts (grab + go) for a budget friendly option. Also skip on the groom’s cake. Usually my brides + grooms that have one don’t even eat it and it goes to waste.
Some of my brides said to skip on expensive wedding shoes and to try to get things you will use again (if you are getting a hair piece, get something you’ll want to rewear .. etc) Rental options are great for decor and have a variety of amazing things to pick from (tables, alter, table decor, etc)
For invites, RSVP, or save the date cards use online or basic invites is a great cheap option if you still want paper goods, lots of options too!
Finally, my last tip is to cut down the guest list and do a buffet style dinner. Most venues will let you choose your own catering. I have one bride doing a food truck for catering. It is such a cost effective option and a cute idea. I would think out of the box for food, you don’t necessarily have to have the typical fish, chicken, steak for your wedding options!
I hope this helped any couples in the midst of planning! Check back on my blog for more tips + tricks, coming your way soon.
